About Us
Our Beliefs
At yes church, we affirm that the Bible stands as God’s unerring message to humanity, divinely authored through human hands under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. As such, it embodies absolute truth and bears eternal relevance for our daily lives. Drawing from Deuteronomy 4:1-2, Psalm 119:11, 89, 105, Isaiah 40:8, Matthew 22:29, John 5:39; 16:13-15; 17:17, Romans 15:4, 2 Timothy 3:15-17, Hebrews 1:1-2; 4:12, 1 Peter 1:25, and 2 Peter 3:16, we embrace the Bible as the cornerstone of our faith, guiding us to embrace God’s unfolding plan with a resounding “yes” to His will and purpose.
The Trinity
At yes church, we profess faith in the Triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — as revealed in the Scriptures and affirmed throughout Christian tradition. We affirm that God exists eternally in three distinct persons, yet as one indivisible unity. This divine mystery, as expressed in passages such as Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, and Ephesians 4:4-6, invites us to say “yes” to the depth of God’s love and the richness of His community. Our vision to say “yes to what God has next” is rooted in the dynamic relationship of the Trinity, inviting us to participate in God’s ongoing work in the world, echoing the harmonious “yes” of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to each other and to creation.
Our Salvation
At yes church, we affirm that salvation is exclusively found through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, whose shed blood on the cross provides the sole means for the forgiveness of sin. This salvation is accessed by placing one’s faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the full payment for sin, as revealed in Isaiah 1:18; 53:5-6; 55:7, Matthew 1:21; 27:22-66, 28:1-6, Luke 1:68-69; 2:28-32, John 1:12; 3:16, 36; 5:24, Acts 2:21; 4:12; 16:30-31, Romans 1:16-18; 3:23-25; 5:8-10; 6, 1 Corinthians 1:18, 2 Corinthians 5:17-20, Galatians 2:20; 3:13, Ephesians 2:8-10, Philippians 2:12-13, Hebrews 9:24-28, and Revelation 3:20. Salvation is not earned through human efforts but is graciously bestowed as a gift from God. Responding to God’s call to say “yes to what God has next” involves embracing this gift of salvation with humility and gratitude, allowing it to transform our lives and empower us to walk in obedience to His will.
The Church
At yes church, we understand the Church as a local assembly of baptized believers, united by their shared faith in Christ. Grounded in the teachings of Jesus Christ and committed to obeying His commands, the Church endeavors to spread the Gospel to the world. Drawing from Matthew 16:18-19; 18:15-20, Acts 2:41-47; 5:11-14; 13:1-3; 14:23; 16:5; 20:28, 1 Corinthians 7:17; 9:13-14; 12, Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 3:10-12; 5:22-32, Colossians 1:18; 3:15, 1 Timothy 4:14, 1 Peter 5:1-4, and Revelation 21:2-3, we believe in the importance of the Church functioning as a loving and unified body, dedicated to glorifying Christ in all its endeavors. As we say “yes to what God has next,” we embrace our role within the Church community, actively participating in its mission to proclaim the Good News and demonstrate Christ’s love to the world.
Leadership
At yes church, we recognize the vital roles of pastors and elders within the body of believers. Pastors are called to shepherd and lead the congregation, providing spiritual guidance, teaching, and care, while elders serve as wise and mature overseers, offering counsel, accountability, and leadership alongside the pastor. Grounded in biblical principles found in passages such as Ephesians 4:11-12, 1 Timothy 3:1-7; 5:17, Titus 1:5-9, and James 5:14, we believe that pastors and elders are appointed by God to equip and empower the Church for ministry, fostering spiritual growth and unity within the community of faith. As we say “yes to what God has next,” we honor and support the leadership of pastors and elders, recognizing their God-given authority and commitment to serving the body of Christ with humility, integrity, and love.
